Julia Ennis
Artist's Statement
Through my work I provide a tangible declaration of spiritual energy, as it is the most fundamental part of our existence. As souls, our purpose is to learn and grow, therefore our physical existence is a gift; the gift of experiencing sensations. To attain the most fulfilling experience in our given time, we must become present and aware. Through my art I provide a visual portrayal of a multi-dimensional model that can accommodate both the material world which we inhabit and the spiritual plane from which we emanate. I put forth the layers of reality that are hidden, the illusions that hinder us from the realization of interconnectedness. I use reflective and fluid materials to represent the evanescent quality of our visual perception and prefer to let the materials speak to me and evolve freely. Instinctively, I develop a relationship with my surroundings, and then make marks intuitively.
